Kearys Renault Supports the Electric Vehicle Education at MTU with Renault Fluence Z.E. Donation

Kearys Renault, proudly donated a Renault Fluence Z.E t the first electric vehicle to join the university's fleet at the Automotive Business Management and Technology department in Munster Technological University.

Michael J Murphy, the Department Head of Process, Energy, and Transport Engineering, played a pivotal role in facilitating this partnership. His vision for a sustainable future in automotive technology is truly inspiring. The event was graced by the presence of Matt Cottrel, Head of School, who expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunities this vehicle presents for hands-on learning and research.

Brian Nixon, a Lecturer at the university, highlighted the educational benefits of having an electric vehicle on campus. He emphasized how the Renault Fluence Z.E., with its advanced features like a 22 kWh lithium-ion battery and an all-electric range of 185 km (115 mi), will provide invaluable practical insights to the students.

The contribution was made possible through the collaborative efforts of James Kenny, the Dealer Performance Manager at Kearys Renault, and Brian Quinlan, the Customer Satisfaction Manager at Renault Ireland. James is a past pupil of the Automotive Technology and Management course thus provided insights in how educational the donation would be for years to come.
