With roots dating back 1977 Kearys has evolved significantly over time. Please see below our trajectory.

1977

Bill Keary, a building surveyor by profession, moved down from Dublin to start selling cars for his uncle Paddy O’Callaghan, a well-established VW Dealer in Kanturk, Co. Cork.

1980
|
Bill went into partnership with his uncle in a Toyota dealership in Mallow, Co. Cork. In 1985, Bill became a Toyota dealer in his own right. Kearys of Mallow was incorporated.

1987
|
The Cork City Toyota and BMW dealer Eglantine Motors went out of business and Kearys were appointed as the main Toyota Dealer for Cork.

1989
|
Kearys of Mallow relocated to a new facility on the main Cork-Limerick road. Mallow achieved the highest CSI ratings for Toyota Sales in Ireland.

1993
|
Kearys were the first dealership in Ireland to receive the prestigious Quality Mark and operated a quality system similar to ISO 2000. Kearys have also been consistent winners of the Toyota Dealer of the Year Award.

2000
|
Kearys were appointed Toyota dealers for the East Cork area and a new facility was completed in Midleton, Co. Cork. Kearys were appointed Lexus Dealers for Cork City and County.

2002
|
Kearys of Midleton achieves first in Ireland for its CSI performance in the Toyota network. We managed to repeat this in 2003 and subsequent years.

2004
|
Continued expansion and a dramatic increase in car sales performance presented space problems for Kearys on their Cork City Grange site. A prominent 4.5-acre site was acquired at the Kinsale Road Roundabout, Cork’s busiest intersection. Construction commenced in August 2003 and our new premises opened for business in February 2004.

A new Toyota dealership with 16 car showroom
Modern high-tech service facilities, with a 24 service bay and totally computerised NCT facility

2005
|
Kearys were appointed BMW, Mini and Motorrad dealer for Cork. We constructed a 30,000 sq ft sales facility on the lands remaining on the Kinsale Road site. Construction commenced in September and we were open for business for the start of 2006.

2007
|
Kearys of Mallow Toyota moved to a 2-acre adjacent site on the Limerick Road. The new facility included 12 car showroom and a full After Sales facility. In its first full year of trading it once again achieved the highest customer satisfaction rating (97%) of any Toyota dealer in Ireland. Kearys BMW, MINI and Motorrad 18 bay workshop and up-to-date After Sales facility is completed and opened on the Kinsale Road site.

2008

Following the presentation of 5-year business plans to BMW Ireland by all dealers, BMW decided not to renew the contract of a neighbouring dealer. Kearys were appointed to fill this open-point and construction started in July 2008 on our new facility in Eastgate Business Park, Little Island. The new premises opened for trading in October, 2008.

2010

Kearys were appointed the regional dealer for Renault Cork. and started trading in July 2010.

2012
|
2012 marked the addition of another brand as Kearys was appointed Hyundai dealer for Cork city and county for their Cork and Mallow outlets. 2012 also hosted the appointment of Nissan dealers in the former Lexus facility. Hyundai frontier dealer status was awarded to Kearys in 2013, they achieved number one for sales in Ireland and the Mallow branch finishes number four.

2014

Kearys acquire Windsor Motorworld in 2014 which now establishes them as Nissan's sole dealer for Cork city.

2016
|
Kearys open the new Kearys Renault commercial van centre at Doughcloyne Industrial Estate, Sarsfield Road, Wilton, Cork.

2018
|
Kearys open Carstore Cork, its first used car dealership at Togher Industrial Estate, Kinsale Road Roundabout, Cork.
Kearys open Carstore Dublin, its first dealership outside of Cork County at Kylemore Road, Dublin 12.

2019
|
Kearys open a second dealership in Midleton. Kearys now have a dedicated Midleton Renault dealership and Midleton Hyundai dealership.

2021
|
Kearys establish WeBuyCars, a first of its kind in Ireland dedicated to sourcing and purchasing used vehicles directly from the public.

2022
|
Kearys acquire Renault Retail Group in Belgard Dublin, which now trades as Kearys Renault Belgard.
Kearys acquire Cork Rent-A-Van, Corks premier van and truck rental provider, since 1986.
