Meet the BYD ATTO 2 Super Hybrid
The new BYD ATTO 2 Super Hybrid brings BYD’s DM i plug in hybrid technology to the compact SUV segment.
Designed around an electric first driving experience, the ATTO 2 Super Hybrid combines an electric motor, Blade Battery and petrol engine to deliver the flexibility of electric driving while retaining the reassurance of a petrol engine for longer journeys.
The ATTO 2 DM i can offer up to 90km of electric only driving range, depending on specification, while its combined range can reach up to 1,000km. It also has a claimed weighted fuel consumption figure of as little as 1.8L/100km.
This means that for shorter everyday journeys, drivers can make use of electric power, while the petrol engine provides additional flexibility when travelling further afield.
The ATTO 2 is also designed with everyday practicality in mind. Its compact SUV dimensions make it well suited to city driving, while the cabin combines modern styling with technology focused features, including intelligent voice control and a high quality interior.
At the heart of the ATTO 2 Super Hybrid is BYD’s Super DM technology. Unlike a conventional hybrid system, BYD’s system is designed around electric power, with the engine primarily providing assistance when required. BYD says the system can operate using electric power for the majority of driving conditions, helping to deliver a quiet and smooth driving experience.
The BYD ATTO 3 EVO
Joining the ATTO 2 Super Hybrid is the new BYD ATTO 3 EVO, a significant evolution of one of BYD’s best known electric SUVs.
The ATTO 3 EVO takes the familiar ATTO 3 concept and introduces a larger battery, increased performance, faster charging and a host of technology upgrades.
The new model is built on BYD’s latest 800V e Platform 3.0 and features a 74.8kWh Blade Battery. In Design specification, the ATTO 3 EVO offers up to 510km of WLTP combined range, while the range topping Excellence version offers up to 470km.
Charging has also taken a major step forward. With DC charging capability of up to 220kW, the ATTO 3 EVO can charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in approximately 25 minutes under suitable charging conditions.
For drivers looking for more performance, the ATTO 3 EVO Excellence brings all wheel drive and up to 330kW of power. It can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.9 seconds, making this a significant step forward from the original ATTO 3.
The Design version also offers impressive performance, with 230kW of power and a 0 to 100km/h time of 5.5 seconds.
Designed for Everyday Life
While performance and efficiency are important, the ATTO 3 EVO has also been developed with practicality in mind.
The rear boot offers 490 litres of storage, while an additional 101 litre front trunk provides extra space for charging cables, smaller bags and other essentials.
Inside, the ATTO 3 EVO combines technology with comfort, featuring sustainable vegan leather sports seats, electric adjustment, heating and ventilation. The vehicle also features a wireless smartphone charging pad, heated rear seats and BYD’s latest connectivity technology.
A high efficiency heat pump is fitted as standard, helping to improve thermal efficiency and preserve range when heating or cooling the vehicle.
The ATTO 3 EVO also retains BYD’s Blade Battery technology, while its Cell to Body construction forms an integral part of the vehicle’s structure.
