Kearys Motor Group is proud to have supported Dublin runner Chris Connolly, known as Get Better With Chris, as he completed an extraordinary endurance challenge running the length of Ireland and back again.

On 1 June, Chris set out from Malin Head in Co. Donegal to Mizen Head in Co. Cork and returned, covering more than 1,000 kilometres in total. This was his third attempt at completing the challenge, following two previous efforts where he came up short.

Chris’s journey is deeply personal. Having overcome addiction, he has spoken openly about how running became a vital tool in his recovery and has helped him maintain sobriety for over five years. His challenge was not only physical but also symbolic of resilience, perseverance and starting again after setbacks.

Throughout the run, Chris raised funds for Family Carers Ireland while sharing his journey with thousands of supporters online and along the route. Each day he covered up to 60–80 kilometres, supported by intense preparation that included daily double runs and strength training in the lead-up to the event.

Kearys Motor Group provided a Renault Master support vehicle to assist Chris and his team throughout the challenge. The vehicle played a key role in transporting nutrition, equipment and recovery supplies, acting as a reliable base for the support crew across the entire route.

Community support was a major part of the success this time around, with people joining Chris on sections of the run and encouraging him along the way, a key change from previous attempts that helped him push through to completion.

Everyone at Kearys Motor Group would like to congratulate Chris on completing this incredible achievement and for inspiring so many through his story of recovery, resilience and determination.

We are proud to have played a small part in his journey and look forward to seeing what he takes on next.
