The New Nissan Qashqai crossover
The Qashqai is Nissan’s most successful model ever sold in Europe. Over 3 million of the small SUVs have been built in the last decade. For 2018, Nissan’s golden child has been revamped, making it the best version yet.
What’s new for 2018?
For 2018, the Qashqai has been completely redesigned. It features an updated exterior and interior, along with an abundance of new technology.
A first-class makeover
Unlike most people, the Qashqai gets better – and more handsome – with age. The latest model flaunts a sleek and sporty exterior, complete with Nissan’s signature V-Motion front grille.
Inside, the SUV is finished in soft-touch, high-quality materials. Up to five passengers will enjoy amenities such as a panoramic sunroof and premium heated seats with a 3D quilted finish. There’s plenty of room for cargo too – 1,598 litres to be exact (with the rear seats folded).
The 2018 Nissan Qashqai is available in five trim levels: Visia, Acenta, Connecta, Tekna and Tekna+.
Efficient and sporty powertrain
A premium crossover wrapper with the underpinnings of a sports sedan – that’s the Qashqai. Under its bonnet, you’ll find one of several advanced engine options. The segment leader is a 1.5-litre diesel powerplant, which makes 110 PS and consumes just 3.8 litres/100km. Other choices include a 1.6L diesel, a 1.2L petrol and a 1.6L petrol. Transmission options include either a 6-speed manual or CVT XTronic automatic transmissions.
Front-wheel drive is standard on the Qashqai. But, for superior traction and handling, opt for the four-wheel drive. Nissan’s Intelligent 4x4 system helps the crossover make constant contact with the pavement or dirt. Nissan’s Intelligent Driving technology suite improves performance further with trace control, ride control and an engine brake.
Stay connected wherever you go
Forget fumbling around for your smartphone at the stop light. The Qashqai puts the latest technology within reach at all times. It starts with the NissanConnect EVO infotainment system for all your music and social needs. A Bose premium sound system provides the soundtrack to all your experiences and memories.
The future of safety technology
Many tech companies and automakers are hustling to bring autonomous features to market, but Nissan is one of the first. The most remarkable feature found on the Qashqai is the ProPilot Assistant. This function uses autonomous technology to control steering, braking and acceleration. The driver can sit back and let the vehicle take control during heavy traffic congestion and high-speed cruising. Unfortunately, you can’t take a nap behind the wheel, yet. ProPILOT requires the driver maintain engaged with a hand on the steering wheel.
ProPILOT is part of the Qashqai’s Intelligent Mobility suite of technologies. Other highlights include automated emergency braking, lane departure warning and an around-view monitor. The SUV can also take over parking duties for you with the innovative, Park Assist function.
